Location:
The Convent is approximately:
35 miles north of Albany, NY
20 miles east from the Saratoga Springs Amtrak/Greyhound Station
By Car :
From points south and west, take the Northway, I-87, north from Albany.
Take Exit 14 (Saratoga Springs) to US Route 29 East.
Go approximately 15 miles to Greenwich.
At the only traffic light in town, continue straight on Starte Road 372, over the Battenkill Bridge and under a trestle bridge.
Take a right fork onto County Road 74 (Eddy Street) for one mile.
Turn right onto Burton Road and go 0.5 miles.
Turn right into Christ the King Spiritual Life Center
Take the middle road uphill to the Convent
From points north and east (Rutland and Montpelier, VT), the major roads coming to Greenwich are US 22 South and US 29 West. From Bennington, VT use US 67 to US 22 north to US 372 West in Cambridge. The Massachusetts Turnpike is intersected by US 22 North, or, to avoid the country roads, travel through Albany and up the Northway as described above.
By Train or Bus:
Amtrak and Greyhound/Trailways Bus both run from NYC to Saratoga Springs. Amtrak is a lot more comfortable and a beautiful ride. The best way to the Convent from Saratoga Springs is via Saratoga Capitaland Taxi. We regret that we do not have enough driving Sisters to offier to pick up retreatants at the station.
By Air:
The nearest airport is Albany International Airport. While there is taxi service from the airport to Greenwich, the best option is to rent a car at the airport and drive yourself. |
