Pre-Lenten Winter Retreat & Quiet Day
"Preparing Our Souls to
Keep a Holy Lent"
A two-day silent retreat
with
the Rt. Rev'd
Dan Herzog
Retired Bishop of Albany
February 17-19, 2012
The weekend before Ash Wednesday is a time to take stock and make ready for the pilgrimage of prayer and discipline by which Christians approach both the Passion of Christ and His Paschal victory, as Jesus said in the Gospel reading for Quinquagessima Sunday, “Lo, we go to Jerusalem…."
Join the Sisters of St. Mary in silent retreat on the last weekend before Lent as Bishop Dan Herzog leads us in prayerful reflection on the practices and disciplines of keeping a Holy Lent.
All the devotions planned for the Quiet Day below are included, plus three additional meditations by Bishop Dan, and the opportunity to join the chant, prayers and ongoing worship of the community as we wait in silence on the Lord.
The Retreat begins at 5:30 p.m. with Friday Vespers followed by a "talking supper", with silence beginning after the first Meditation and Compline at 7:30 p.m. The retreat ends on Sunday after dinner (lunch).
Suggested donation for the Full Weekend Retreat: $250
Communter Rate (meals and program): $175.
For more information or to register, call the convent at (518) 692-3028 or e-mail the sisters. Accomodations are limited so call soon!
If you are unable to join us for the Retreat, join us for the day on Saturday for:
