CSM Blue Lily

Greetings from the Sisters in Malawi

Our life as usual in a promised land feels good. We are working hard to serve God and the people in our country. We have been working hard in our garden and caring for our animals. The good news is that our goats, Determination and Patience, have got kids. Patience has two kids, a male and female. The female one is Khumbo which means “Will.” It was God’s Will that he called each one of us to serve him. The male one is Khwima, which means “ Be Strong.” We really need to be strong in serving Him. Determin-ation has a buck kid, and his name is Tumpha. (which means “ Jump for Joy.”) Mother Miriam named him. He was born when Mother and her party were here. Now we have six goats.

Now about our garden: The sad news is that, after we planted our vegetables, the pigs broke into our garden and destroyed all the vegetables. This has happened several times. We are planning to build a brick wall to protect our land. Although the pigs have done this, we still forge ahead. We have planted a lot of vegetables.

We have good tidings of comfort and joy to share. We were so excited to see Mother Miriam, our two Sisters, Tammy Boyd and Peggy Bruce come from America in May. Our Sisters Georgina and Patricia Taonga have come to join us here in Luwinga. We are so glad to have them. Our community is growing. That means that the work will be a little bit easier, because the work that was being done by the 3Ms will now be done by five Sisters. Please continue praying for both communities, here in Malawi and in America, that God will call many women to work in His vineyard.

We were glad to see Peggy Bruce visiting Malawi for the second time. Her presence shows that she cares for us all. This was Tammy’s first time, but we really liked being with her. She made a compost pile for us. We wish she could come again (and not just because she made us compost!).

It was Mother Miriam’s first visit, too. We were filled with joy to see her again after almost two years. We discussed a lot of things with her. It was good for all of them to see and understand how people live in Malawi. We visited Likoma Island and Nkhata Bay. We also visited our Roman Catholic friends, the Holy Spirit Sisters, the Rosarian Sisters, and the MIC (Missionaries of the Immaculate Conception) Sisters. We really enjoyed all the visits, and especially were so excited to see our Mother and her party. We thank our Sisters in America for allowing Mother Miriam to come and see us.

Many, many thanks should go to all donors, Associates and all those wish us well. We, especially, do not forget our Australia donors for their gift to buy farm tools. We hope that you will continue supporting us. We all appreciate your prayers and support you are giving us. May God Almighty shower upon you all abundant blessings.

From Sisters Georgina and Patricia Taonga

Thank you all for your prayers which you have been offering for us before and after we left America. We had a nice training there, and we really learned many things which we are expecting to teach others, too.

Our trip back was really long and safe. We only thank God for being our strong tower. Everyone was happy to see us back again, especially the Bishop, Sisters, relatives and friends. We were excited, too, to see them and how much they have been doing when we were gone. It was really amazing. The most important thing is that now we have seen and entered our promised land. Now we are settling in, and it seems to be a good beginning.

Your prayers are appreciated. May God bless you all.
