From the Mother’s Desk

Many guests and Associates have begun to ask when are the Sisters going to move and where will we be going. This issue of the Messenger will answer the “Where are you going?” question. The“when” question is still within the future mists of “God’s good time,” far enough for us to say, “Don’t worry, we’ll still be here in Peekskill next year.”

Many have also asked how the Sisters feel about the pending move. It will be a big change in our lives because only the senior Sisters have ever lived in branch houses away from Peekskill. We are indebted to Father Patrick Hunt for allowing us to print the homily (Grafting into New Life) he wrote while visiting us last September. It is an apt description of how I personally feel as I have the privilege of working closely with the leadership of the Diocese of Albany in planning for their new Spiritual Life Center just outside of Saratoga, New York. +
