A group of staff members from St. Mary’ s Healthcare System took part in a Quiet Day at the Convent on October 27, led by Father Simmons. Deacon Michael Maroutsis, director of Pastoral Care at St. Mary’ s Hospital, organized this group, and several members of the pastoral care team were among those attending.
Our Associate, Father Leslie Hughs of Christ Church, Manhasset, New York, presided at the annual Service of Healing for the Children and Families of St. Mary’s Healthcare System on Sunday, November 4. Mother Miriam and Sister Mary Angela participated.
At the December Board Meetings of St. Mary’s Healthcare System and St. Mary’s Foundation, the Sisters met Sheba and her primary handlers, senior occupational therapist Gayle Bardin and the Foundation President, Libby Zimmer. Sheba is a “Canine Companion” trained to work with our children in occupational therapy. Gayle works with her and the children. Libby gives her time off and a home at night. +
