We are enjoying Autumn since it is not really hot or cold, and the trees are beautifully colored. The leaves are falling which makes us sad, for it means winter cold and snow are coming.
We are still learning a lot of skills, besides the ones mentioned in our last article. We have also started learning to be a cantrix. As a cantrix we begin the plain chants which we sing during offices. Not only does the cantrix start the plain chant but she keeps everyone on the right tone and mode. We are really enjoying it, although it is hard as you can imagine.
Our cards project is prospering, and now we are making Christmas cards. Also thanks be to God, now our chickens have grown up and have started laying eggs. The eggs are brown in color, and they are so delicious.
Our last vacation was on the 18th of September, when we visited the All Saints Sisters in Catonsvillle, Maryland for one week. First we drove to Cape May, New Jersey where we took a ferryboat to Lewes, Delaware. It was a most wonderful trip, because it was a big ferry and we have never been in such a big ferry. The next day we went to visit the horse farm near All Saints convent, and we had a chance to try horseback riding. We also visited Washington, DC, where we saw the National Cathedral and took a tour. Because our tour guide explained all the historical events, we were impressed by the time and money it took to build it. Some of our Associates invited us to attend High Mass at St. Paul’s on K Street, and after Mass we had lunch with them. We also visited the Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, and saw the White House.
On Saturday, we went to the Columbia Classic Grand Prix where we watched the horse jumping. The show was amazing because the horses were jumping vertical fences os about 1.6 meters high. On the last day of our trip, we went to visit the All Saints’ sisters who were on their vacation at Ocean City, Md. We had a nice time with them, and it was our pleasure to see the ocean. We spent most of our time at the Beach standing in the water. When we tasted the water we found it to be salty. It was wonderful because the Sisters were staying on the 22nd floor of the building. What a spectacular view it was, which made it possible to see everything — the beach, the ocean, and the city.
Finally, we wish to offer our many thanks to all friends who are supporting us. We hope that you will continue praying for us even when we go back home. We appreciate all your prayers while we have this opportunity to learn to become Sisters. You are always in our prayers.
