In February Sister Mary Elizabeth traveled to Texas for a much needed three-week rest. Although most of the time was spent with family and catching up with friends and area Associates, she had the opportunity to visit and speak in several churches.

On her first Sunday in Texas, she met Associate Fr. Joseph Wilson at St. Mary the Virgin RC Parish, an Anglican Rite church in Arlington, Texas. Fr. Wilson was the guest celebrant and preacher and spoke warmly of his association with CSM in his homily.

Sister made presentations about the Community and its work in New York and Africa to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Diocesan Renewal Center’s School of Spirituality, and to members of the Church of the Holy Cross in Dallas where Fr. Michael and Associate Patty Tuck now serve. She presented copies of our video, The Hidden Life, to a newly formed group of Daughters of the King at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Carrollton, Texas, and led the Adult Class for two Sundays in her home parish of St. Francis, Dallas.

Fr. John Scott of Calvary Church, Burnt Hills, invited Mother Miriam to lead the Lenten Quiet Day for the Clergy in the Upper Hudson Deanery of the Diocese of Albany on March 11, 2003. Our Associate Tammy Boyd organized a Women's Potluck Supper the previous evening, for a viewing of The Hidden Life and time to talk about our developing plans for the move to the Albany Spiritual Life Center and the work of the Sisters in Malawi.
