Directions to St. Mary's Convent

The nearest airport is Albany International Airport. There are a lot of “puddle jumps” from LaGuardia, Philadelphia, and Baltimore (BWI) for less than $160 round trip. Taxi fare from the airport to Greenwich is $75 plus gratuity one-way. The best option is to rent a car at the airport and drive yourself.

From points south through New York City:
Amtrak and Greyhound/Trailways Bus both run from NYC to Saratoga Springs. Amtrak costs $86 round trip from NYC and Trailways costs $79. Amtrak is a lot more comfortable and a beautiful ride. The best way to the Convent from Saratoga Springs is via Capitaland Taxi. The cost is $34 plus gratuity one-way. We’re sorry that we do not have enough driving Sisters to offer to pick up retreatants at the Station.

From New England:
Amtrak runs from Boston to NYC and up to Saratoga Springs (not a very efficient route, but fun if you have time). There is a direct train from Rutland, VT.

Driving Directions:
The major route from points south and west is the Northway, I-87, north from Albany. Take Exit 14 (Saratoga Springs) to US Route 29 East. Go approximately 15 miles to Greenwich. At the only traffic light in town, continue straight on State Road 372, over the Battenkill Bridge and under a trestle bridge. Take a right fork on to County Road 74 (Eddy Street) for one mile. Turn right on to Burton Rd. The Spiritual Life Center is a half mile up on Burton Rd. and, hopefully, by the time you read this, signs pointing the way to the Convent will be posted.

From points north and east, (Rutland, and Montpelier, VT) the major roads coming to Greenwich are US 22 south and US 29 west. From Bennington, VT, use US 67 to US 22 north to US 372 west in Cambridge. The Mass Turnpike is intersected by US 22 north or, to avoid the country roads, travel through Albany and up the Northway as described above.
